EMINGER, FRANK, SIMPSON, VANDERVEER posted by Jack D. Frank on Friday, November 14, 1997

Peter FRANK was born in 1782 in German Flats, New York, (now the village of Frankfort) the son of Lawrence FRANK. Lawrence FRANK and his sons: Peter, John Lawrence, & Michael migrated to Western New York State to a village of Busti, New York, near the present town of Jamestown. Peter went to "someplace in Ohio", and I have found several references to a marriage to Margaret SIMPSON in 1833 in Darke County, and two deaths: one in 1850 in Greenville Twp, Darke County, and one in 1880 in Washington, Mercer County.

Peter had a son, Matthew Peter FRANK born 1815 in Busti, New York. Matthew Peter FRANK was a shopkeeper in Germantown, Montgomery County, Ohio. Montgomery County is next to Darke County so the two persons appear to be connected.

Matthew Peter FRANK was born 3/17/1815 and died 7/2/1866. He married Eliza Jane VANDERVEER on January 24, 1839. Eliza was born on 4/13/1821 and died on 12/6/1850. They had four children: Mary Jane, George W., Cerene, and Charles C.

On January 13, 1852, Matthew Peter FRANK married Mary EMINGER in Montgomery County. Mary was born on 8/24/1831 and died on 3/16/ 1876. All these people are buried in the Germantown Cemetery which we visited in May of this year. Mary and Matthew had six children: Joseph A., William E. (my grandfather), Edward, Annetta, Jacob, Clara, and David.

Matthew Peter FRANK is my great grandfather. I do not know his mother's name, nor do I know any of his brother's and sister's names. I have lots of information prior to 1800 and about the ancestors following Matthew Peter FRANK to exchange.
