BORDER, PETERSEIM, PETERSEIME, PETERSIME posted by Pat McGarry on Wednesday, October 1, 1997

Researching PETERSEIMs (All types of spellings, like 'sime', sein', simes, and other sounded-related spellings). Amos BORDER (about 1837-1935) M. Catherine PETERSEIM (1833-1914), 1854. [Verner Oehrtman / 7904 Darke Shelby Co / Yorkshire, OH 45388-9601 / (419) 582-3118 has genealogy of this BORDER/PETERSEIM family.]

PETERSEIMs came to USA in 1831, from Saxe-Coburg-Erfurt area in Prussia, to Shelby County, then Miami County and then spread out, as majority went to Darke County. A Henry PETERSEIM moved to Ansonia in 1830s from this clan, that probably started the PETERSIME and PETERSEIM clan there - Christopher PETERSIME (1841-?), George PETERSEIM (1836-1901), John PETERSEIME (Children were 'seim', from census and marriage records 1810-1890). These are unkown connections. I have how I am related to Ira PETERSIME, the Petersime Incubator Entrepreneur. Please Email me if anybody has connections or interests.

BOYD, FOGLE, FREEMAN, RUSK, SHIELDS posted by Audrey Shields Hancock on Thursday, October 2, 1997

It is said that Patrick SHIELDS b 1784 Ireland, mar 1806 to Mary FOGLE, & 1836 to Selina (FREEMAN) BOYD, widow of Thomas BOYD, had 21 children. It is said that Patrick & Mary had 10 children and that Patrick & Selina had 11 children. Is there a listing somewhere of Patrick's 21 children? Did the count include the 5 BOYD children that Selina brought with her to the marriage? I am descended from Isaac & Elizabeth (RUSK) SHIELDS, s/o Patrick & Mary. I have a copy of an "Isaac Shields Line" Family History that I inherited from my father which also includes me and part of my family. I was wondering if other histories exist for other children of Patrick. If so, where might I find these? Also, who is to be credited with assembling such a wonderful piece of history. There are no credits given on my family history set of papers which appears to have been assembled about 1970.

BOYD, FOGLE, FREEMAN, SHIELDS posted by Audrey Shields Hancock on Thursday, October 2, 1997

Seek parents, siblings of Mary FOGLE, wife of Patrick SHIELDS. Patrick was b 1784 Ireland and d 1877 in Darke Co., OH. It is said that Mary signed a real estate transfer in 1833, and she was not mentioned since. Does anyone have additional information on Mary? She mar Patrick in 1806? Where did they marry? In 1836 Patrick married #2 Selina (FREEMAN) BOYD, widow of Thomas BOYD. Does anyone know any more about Mary?

BANG, FEDT, FETT, PETERSEIM, SANDO posted by Pat McGarry on Tuesday, October 7, 1997

Does anybody know anything a Levi BANG (B. either 1841 or 1861-?). He had an Aunt that said to be a sister to Catherine FETT (Or in German, FEDT) PETERSEIM (1805-1886), wife of John Adam PETERSEIM (1808-1872). Levi was said to be a big business man, like William SANDO and Martin Adam PETERSEIM (Both William and Martin Adam ran Elevator and General Store in Bloomer area) in the Miami County-Bradford area. I am curious if anybody is related to him?

APPLE, LABIG, PETERSEIM, WEHNEMAN, WISE posted by Pat McGarry on Tuesday, October 7, 1997

John LABIG's son or daughter married a 'Rise' WISE, and had a child, b. in 1979. John is son of Pauline WEHNEMAN (1910-1972)(Cousin to my Grandfather, as her mother, Florence , was his aunt and she was a PETERSEIM) and Ralph LABIG (1909-). I think this line of the family still owns the farm in Bloomer, on Versailles Rd, that was Martin Adam PETERSEIM's (1844-1925). There was a WISE (I think Edward WISE) listed a few years ago on Versailles Rd., who could have been 'Rise's' father. Maybe the APPLE family on Versailles Road might know. Verena APPLE (1885-1970) was the first wife of my Great Grandfather Wlater Francis PETERSEIM (1883-1944).

EIKENBERRY, KREIDER, WELBAUM posted by Pat McGarry on Wednesday, October 15, 1997

Tobias Sylvester KREIDER (1826-1902) and --?-- (I forget her first name right now) WELBAUM (1827-1902), had several kids: David, Susan EIKENBERRY (1864-1955)(My Great-Great Grandmother), Lydia EIKENBERRY (1866-1941), Lawrence (1871-?), Willie (1875-1959) (I do not see how his mother could have had him when she was 48. That would have been in the World Book Records then, I think. I think Willie was grandson, but who knows), and other children. My interest right now is to find what happened to Ucal KREIDER, son of Willie, as cannot find a death date at all for him. (Not listed in Social Security Death Master File).
